About BOON

BOON Ministries Corp is a nonprofit charitable organization serving the community through research, scholarship, resources, relationships, media, partnerships, and other work supporting the holistic development of Black youth.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through BOON's website and related digital services, including contact forms, newsletter subscriptions, volunteer and partnership inquiries, charitable giving, research-related forms, event registrations, podcast and media experiences, and online merchandise where applicable.

Information We Collect

BOON collects information you choose to provide, and only what the organization needs to respond to you and carry out its mission. That may include your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address; your city, state, and organization or church affiliation; volunteer interests, skills, and availability; partnership, sponsorship, speaking, or event inquiries; newsletter preferences and contact form messages; research or survey responses; event registration details; and merchandise and order information where the shop is active.

Donor and Charitable Giving Information

When you make a charitable gift to BOON, BOON or its third-party giving provider may collect information associated with that contribution, such as your name, contact information, gift amount, recurring-gift preferences, designation, and transaction information.

Payment-card and bank-account details are processed by a third-party payment processor or giving platform. BOON uses donor information to process and acknowledge gifts, provide receipts, manage recurring contributions, maintain donor records, communicate about the mission and its impact, respond to donor questions, and meet legal, accounting, and charitable-recordkeeping obligations.

Donor privacy

BOON shares donor information only with service providers that support functions such as payment processing, donor management, email communications, accounting, analytics, and mailing. [Confirm and insert BOON's approved donor-information statement, including whether BOON does not sell donor personal information, before publication.]

Donation Receipts and Records

BOON may retain records of charitable contributions as necessary for donor acknowledgments, financial reporting, accounting, tax compliance, audits, legal obligations, and nonprofit recordkeeping. Receipts are generated through BOON or the connected giving provider. [Confirm BOON's tax-exempt status and approved deductibility language before publication.]

Volunteer, Partner, and Organization Information

If you submit a volunteer interest form, BOON may collect your contact details, skills, experience, availability, location, and areas of interest, and may use that information to evaluate opportunities, contact you about service, coordinate activities, maintain volunteer records, and support safety and operational needs.

BOON also collects information submitted by churches, ministries, schools, researchers, nonprofits, community organizations, funders, and other partners, including contact information, organizational affiliation, partnership interests, event details, and collaboration requests. This information is used to respond to inquiries and develop potential partnerships.

Research, Surveys, and Youth-Related Information

BOON conducts and supports research, surveys, listening sessions, and interviews related to Black youth, families, churches, educators, mentors, and communities. Research data is handled according to the consent, privacy, and participation procedures associated with each specific project. This Privacy Policy does not replace project-specific research consent materials.

Children's privacy

BOON's mission centers Black kids and teenagers, and the general BOON website is designed primarily for adults: parents, caregivers, ministry leaders, educators, supporters, partners, and community members. BOON does not knowingly collect personal information from children through general website forms without appropriate consent where required. Research, programs, events, and experiences involving minors may carry separate consent and privacy procedures.

Newsletter and Email Communications

If you subscribe to BOON communications, you may receive organizational updates, research insights, resources, blog content, podcast and video releases, event information, giving opportunities, and community news. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option. BOON may still send transactional or administrative messages when necessary.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the website, information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, referral source, approximate location, and interaction data may be collected through cookies and analytics tools.

Cookies and Analytics

BOON uses cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, performance, analytics, remembering preferences, and understanding traffic. [Confirm the analytics and consent tools actually in use before publication, and implement a cookie consent mechanism where required by applicable law.]

Embedded Media

The website may embed third-party media, including YouTube, The Ville podcast and audio players, and social media content. Embedded providers may collect information under their own policies.

Third-Party Service Providers

BOON works with providers that support website hosting, form processing, email and newsletter delivery, donation processing, donor management, commerce and payment processing, video and podcast hosting, analytics, and accounting or operational systems. [Confirm and list BOON's actual providers before publication.]

How Information May Be Shared

BOON may share information when reasonably necessary with service providers working on its behalf, payment processors and giving platforms, email and analytics providers, professional advisors, and legal or regulatory authorities where required.

Public Nonprofit Records

As a nonprofit charitable organization, BOON may be required to make certain organizational and financial documents available to the public under applicable law. Those public-disclosure obligations are separate from BOON's treatment of personal donor and website-user information. BOON does not publish donor names or personal donor details except where required, authorized, or part of an approved recognition practice.

Data Retention and Security

BOON retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, nonprofit recordkeeping, donor acknowledgments, financial reporting, legal obligations, research procedures, or operational needs.

BOON uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No website or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your Choices

Depending on applicable law and BOON's practices, you may be able to unsubscribe from marketing emails, update your contact information, request correction or deletion where appropriate, manage communication preferences, and manage cookie settings where available. To make a request, contact BOON.
